Winter Session: Wednesdays, Jan. 15 - Mar. 4, 2019 (Make-up Day: Mar. 11, 2019)
Wednesday Daytime Class Schedule
- 10:00-10:45am – Creative Dance (ages 4-6) (GA)
- 10:00-10:50am – Tween/Teen Conditioning (ages 10-16) (AB)
- 11:00am-12:00pm – Kids Ballet/Lyrical (ages 7-14) (AB)
- 11:00-11:45am – Never Too Late to Dance! Senior Dance (65+) (GA)
A showcase will be held on the final day of each session for parents to attend.
Cost: $95 / 8 week semester (No registration fee)
Discount: Register and pay for both semesters by Sept 18, take $10 off.
Creative Dance (Ages 4-6) - The basic technique of ballet and tap will be introduced. Young dancers will learn proper placement, positions, and rhythm. An age appropriate balance of structured exercises and creative movement will be included.
Kids Ballet/Lyrical (Ages 7-14) - Students will learn the proper technique of classical ballet and enjoy expressing themselves through lyrical choreography. Dancers will gain strength, flexibility, skill and knowledge as they engage in fun and challenging exercises.
Tween/Teen Conditioning (Boys & girls ages 10-16) - Students will gain agility, strength, muscular endurance, core stability, jumping ability, and flexibility using circuit and interval modalities. Proper form and alignment will be emphasized. Use of stability balls, resistance tubes, kettle bells, jump rope, gliding discs, and Pilates exercises will be included. The instructor, with a Masters of Science in Kinesiology, teaches the fundamentals of kinetic anatomy and exercise science principles. Boys and girls will enjoy a variety of challenges; this course will be beneficial to all types of athletes.
Never Too Late to Dance! Senior Dance Class (Ages 65+) - A fun, gentle, therapeutic dance and movement class for seniors. The benefits will include improved balance, strengthening, enhanced mood and overall well-being. Beneficial to those with Parkinson’s and arthritis. Doctor approval recommended.
